Eva Tihanyi was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1956 and came to Canada at the age of six. She grew up in Windsor, lived in Toronto from 1981 to 1989, and then moved to Welland, Ontario, where she teaches at Niagara College.
Tihanyi has published five books of poetry and one short story collection, Truth and Other Fictions.
Throughout a freelance journalism career that began in 1978 and ended in 2008 when she decided to devote more time to her own work, Tihanyi reviewed over 250 books.
Currently, she is at work on her sixth poetry volume and a second story collection. Tihanyi views her creative activities as not only ways of experiencing the world but of participating in it.
Tihanyi is a member of the Writers' Union of Canada and the League of Canadian Poets.
